At formation, EIG was capitalized with funds from its founders. In October 2008, EIG completed a Series A financing round to further strengthen its balance sheet. EIG is using the proceeds of the Series A financing round to invest directly in its proprietary investment programs and to finance its growth plans.
In September 2008, EIG was a sponsor of Super Return Asia 2008, a leading private equity conference held in Hong Kong. EIG sponsored a cocktail reception for all attendees and hosted a private dinner. Also, Mr. Heath Zarin, EIG’s CEO, served as Chairman and Moderator for portions of the conference. Emergent Investment Group Limited is a Cayman Islands exempted company established in early 2008 with the objective of becoming a leading global investment management firm. EIG was formed by a group of investment professionals formerly associated with Credit Suisse Alternative Investments, a leading global alternative asset manager with over US$165 billion in managed assets, and has grown to include more than 15 people.
